Bush BAC31

Bush BAC31

r.

The Bush BAC31 is a battery/mains a.c valve radio, which was made in 1953. It has long & medium waveband reception. Although the batteries are now long obsolete, the radio still works on a.c mains by its power unit (type 42). The internal battery/mains switch has a control knob that is also used on the Bush DAC90A wave change switch, so I removed this for use as a spare for possible future DAC90A projects, and fitted a conventional control knob in the Bush BAC31.
The valves used are as follows:-
DK96, DF96, DAF96, DL96.
The rectifier valve in the power supply is EZ41
The radio has many Hunts plastic "Mouldseal" capacitors that require replacing with modern types, and some resistors also required replacing too.
The radio is rather similar in looks to the earlier Roberts portable/mains radios.
The cabinet covering seems to be in fairly good condition, not too much wear.
